Building and hardening developer tools

I created Nift and continue to develop a broader set of native tools and self-hosted applications. The work spans language design, parsing, performance, cross-platform packaging, web interfaces, security boundaries and large regression suites.

Turning complex material into workable ideas

I lectured in real and complex analysis and quantitative methods, and tutored calculus, economics, econometrics and statistics. I also carried out research assistance in economics.

International competition at serious scale

I helped design and build the Ants challenge, including symmetric map generators, the C++ starter bot and parts of the game specification. As a competitor I placed in the top one percent globally twice and finished as the highest-ranked Australian in both Ants and Planet Wars.
